10 Years of the Paris Agreement: What Has Changed? and What Hasn’t? | Public Event

In 2015, the Paris Agreement marked a historic global commitment to limit climate change and steer the world toward a more sustainable future. A decade later, what have we achieved and where are we falling short?

To mark the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement, we warmly invite professors, students, and members of the wider community to an open event at the House of Connections in Groningen. The event will bring together leading climate scientists to reflect on ten years of climate action, assess progress, and discuss the road ahead.

Program

The event will feature three short presentations (10 minutes each) by fellows of the Rudolf Agricola School for Sustainable Development and Lead Authors of the Seventh Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the world’s foremost body for assessing climate science:

The presentations will be followed by a minute moderated discussion with ample opportunity for questions from the audience, and will conclude with coffee and drinks.

• Have we bent the curve of global emissions or merely slowed their growth?
• Are current climate pledges enough to meet the Paris temperature goals?
• Who has benefited most from climate action, and who is still left behind?
• What must change in the next decade to avoid the most severe climate impacts?

This event is open to all who are interested in climate science, policy, and justice. Join us for an afternoon of reflection, critical discussion, and exchange at the intersection of science and society.
