Just Art. Creating Common Grounds for Climate Justice Through Artistic Research

The Environmental Humanities Network (the research group within RAS) warmly invites you to its first meeting of this academic year, featuring a talk by Prof. Dr. Ann-Sophie Lehmann on the new project JUST ART.

As the impacts of climate change accelerate, it is becoming increasingly clear that those least responsible for the crisis are also those most likely to be the hardest hit. This is one of the central tenets of climate justice, a framework that highlights the deep inequities and injustices shaping responses to climate change. Our project JUST ART brings together artists, researchers, campaigners and communities in rural and urban regions across the Kingdom of the Netherlands to address these injustices and take urgent action together to shape more just futures. In my talk, I will address the potential of artistic research for creating awareness and change and introduce the project and the approaches it aims to develop.
