The book Van Autisme tot Zichtproblemen: Prevalentie van bijkomende problemen bij mensen met lichte verstandelijke beperkingen is now available online and open access at University of Groningen Press (UGP).

The book is edited by Ybelina de Jong-van der Meulen; Marjanne D. van der Hoek; Tessa Wokke; Kirsten Menge; Eva A. Jaarsma; Alain D. Dekker.

About the book

To properly address the needs of people with mild intellectual disabilities, it is important to recognise both the intellectual disability and possible additional problems. Care workers benefit from a clear overview of which problems are common and how often (prevalence). Until now, such an overview has been lacking.

Van Autisme tot Zichtproblemen therefore provides a comprehensive overview of additional problems found in literature.

The book compiles the results of structured literature reviews and shows which additional problems are most commonly mentioned in the literature. Useful for counsellors, practitioners, policymakers, administrators, managers and researchers in disability care.
