The Patio: Federico Pianzola - GOLEM: Networks supporting the transmission of story traits across languages
The Patio (an interdisciplinary research group on social networks) invites you to their upcoming meeting, with invited speaker Federico Pianzola.
This talk introduces one of the goals of the GOLEM project: identifying patterns of transmission of story traits across languages and reading communities. Federico will present two types of preliminary analyses, one based on ecological models for estimating the diversity and richness of species, and one based on network analysis. Amongst things, they look at the network structure of the monolingual and multilingual readers, with the overall goal to identify users and reading behaviours likely to be crucial agents for the transmission of story traits across languages and fandoms.
Federico Pianzola is Assistant Professor of Computational Humanities at the University of Groningen (Netherlands), where he is Director of Studies for the Master’s in Digital Humanities. He is the Principal Investigator of the ERC Starting Grant project GOLEM (Graphs and Ontologies for Literary Evolution Models). Registration is not necessary and participation is free of charge
