Title: Towards a sustainable knowledge development for a sustainable society, energy initiatives as initiators?
Summary:
I will describe the rise of energy initiatives in Europe and show to what extent they can be seen as initiators of social and or technological innovation. What is and could be their transformative power? I will use a modified version of the Multilevel Perspective for Sustainable Transitions, and analyze some Dutch energy cooperatives and related initiatives, promoting their own types of PV, wind turbines and district heating.
