CHS guest lecture - Harriët Bergman: Privilege on a Burning Planet

When:We 20-11-2024 15:00 - 17:00
Where:t.b.a.

This guest lecture is hosted by the Research Centre for Historical Studies.

Activist engaged in research in times of climate breakdown Philosopher, trainer and activist Harriët Bergman recently defended her PhD Privilege on a Burning Planet. In their article on climate ethics, Green and Brandstedt wrote that, although climate change “has done much for philosophy,” philosophy “has not done much for climate change” (2020). What is activist engaged research? And what questions does it lead to? I’ll explain my research as non-ideal activist engaged research quilting. In this talk, she will touch upon her research method and some of the topics she researched - such as eco-fascism, anger, privilege, and non-violence.
