How can robots learn together with humans? "Tudor" helps!

Dr. Kailai Li, assistant professor at Intelligent Systems group, Bernoulli Institute:
"How can robots learn from animals, and how can humans better interact with biomimetic robots? Legged robots provide unique opportunities to innovate methodologies, algorithms, and approaches for achieving high-performance intelligent systems in complex scenarios. In this research collaboration with Prof. Ming Cao, Chair of the Group of Discrete Technology and Production Automation at ENTEG, we aim to address challenges in robotic state estimation, scene perception and understanding, and particularly, trustworthy human-robot interaction. "Tudor", our quadruped robot, will play a central role here as an agile mobile platform, and we will equip it with additional sensors, computing power, and possibly a manipulator. As part of this collaboration, we will also introduce several new courses for students at both institutes, focusing on state-of-the-art knowledge and practices in mobile robotics."
