Title: Applications of moduli spaces and K3 surfaces
Abstract:
Moduli spaces are geometric spaces whose points parametrize objects. In this talk, we will show how moduli spaces can be used to bound the number of torsion points on elliptic curves and the number of non-constant Brauer classes on K3 surfaces. The second part is joint work with D. Bragg and A. Várilly-Alvarado. This is a colloquium-style talk aimed at a general mathematics audience.
