Title: "Fully decentralised search engines: just a dream?"

Abstract:

Big, centralised web search engines seem to be the perfect tools, to
find any information at any location in the WWW within just a few
moments. The first part of the talk intends to show, why Google
and Co. anyhow will not be the future of information management
in the net.
The second, main part of the talk will deal with recently developed,
new methods,  which can later result in the construction of a fully
decentralised search engine. Therefore, different methods of
modern text mining are used to construct locally working search
agents and search support tools, which have access to personal
data and search histories and can process feedback from the
users as well. After that, is is intended to show, that advances
in decentralised systems (namely P2P-based systems), self-
organisation and structure building are the fundamentals to
organise documents and implement fast, scalable but fully
decentralised search algorithms.

Some demonstrations of recent tools will conclude the talk.
