Title: A Framework and Agent Strategies for ASPIC+-Based Advisory Dialogues

Abstract:

Abstract: Argumentation-based dialogue games have been studied extensively in contexts of persuasion, negotiation, and deliberation. In this talk, I introduce a dialogue framework for a closely related, but distinct context: that of advice. Advisory dialogues represent an important yet rarely studied area of multi-agent interaction and I present a dedicated dialogue protocol based on ASPIC+ . I define a range of strategies for the agents, the advisor and the advisee, and evaluate them according to how often they lead to a good recommendation for the advisee and how long it takes for the dialogues to terminate. To this end, I simulate dialogues on generated ASPIC+ argumentation systems.
