Where:DOT Groningen, Vrydemalaan 2, Groningen

TechTalks050 will kick off with two speakers who will lead you through the world of brain computers or computer brains. What will the future look like? Are computers becoming more human? Can we relegate the mouse and keyboard to a museum? TechTalks050 kicks off with two speakers who lead you through the world of brain computers or computer brains.

UG scientist Niels Taatgen studies the next generation of computers, which will not be based on silicon chips but on new materials inspired by the human brain.

Game designer Jan Jonk of GainPlay develops computer games that are controlled by brain activity. Brain Computer Interfaces (BCIs) have been developed in medical science but are increasingly being used for a wider audience as well. Jan will explain how BCIs are used within the field of Utrecht-based company GainPlay.
