Title: Efficient Multimodal learning for Assistive Agents

Abstract:

Intelligent assistive agents must perceive people, understand their behaviour, and interpret context to provide meaningful support in different environments. This talk explores how multimodal learning enables assistive agents to integrate visual and other sensory information to understand human behaviour and context, drawing on applications in healthcare and human–robot interaction. I will discuss approaches to adapting models to different tasks and environments, alongside challenges in integrating heterogeneous data and translating advances in perception into reliable, context-aware assistance.
