BCN members hold academic positions (with a research component) at the University of Groningen. These positions can be at any postdoctoral level (e.g., staff scientist, postdoc, lecturer, assistant professor, associate professor, adjunct professor, full professor, emeritus) and can be at any FTE level. Support staff and technicians at the University of Groningen are also welcome. Their research or educational profile should align with BCN’s mission. While this may not be their primary focus, it should be a part of their work.

This affiliation fosters meaningful partnerships and enhances engagement with like-minded professionals dedicated to advancing the school’s goals. Members also have the opportunity to contribute to BCN’s activities by attending and/or organizing symposia and other events, as well as teaching in the Research Master’s (ReMa) and PhD programmes.
More specific benefits include:
-
BCN staff members’ PhD candidates can take part in the BCN PhD training programme.
-
BCN members are eligible to supervise BCN Research Master’s theses, essays, and internships.
-
Access to exclusive grants offered by BCN (such as the Seed Grant).
-
Receiving the BCN Agenda & News and the BCN Magazine.
-
Access to (and the opportunity to organize) BCN symposia and events.
