Fraud

Fraud is any act or omission by a student that makes it impossible to form a correct judgement about their knowledge, insight, or skills. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Having unauthorised notes in textbooks during an exam, including codes created through underlining or markings.
• Possessing unauthorised materials (such as written notes, data carriers, or electronic devices) during an exam.
• Plagiarism: copying texts or ideas from others or generated by AI without proper attribution.
• Sharing or using others' papers for individual or group assignments, or uploading them to public websites before the submission deadline has passed.

• The examiner may exclude you from further participation in the exam if fraud is suspected.
• The examiner will draw up a report and send it to the Board of Examiners. You will receive a copy of this report.

1. After the Board of Examiners receives the report with the suspicion of fraud from the examiner, they will invite both the examiner and the student to a hearing. Both you and the examiner will have the opportunity to present your perspectives on the matter.
2. If the Board of Examiners determines that you have committed fraud, the following sanctions may apply:

• Invalidating the exam or the paper in question.
• Revoking your right to take one or more exams for a period determined by the Board of Examiners, up to a maximum of one year.
• In cases of serious fraud: a request to the institution's management to permanently terminate your registration in the programme (iudicium abeundi).
