Celebrate Diversity Day on our Faculty!
On 7 October, the faculty will celebrate Diversity Day, a day dedicated to diversity, inclusion, and cultural exchange. To mark this occasion, the faculty is organizing some activities for students and staff.

6 October: Glenn Thodé - Reimagining education in the Caribbean Netherlands
One of the highlights takes place on 6 October, the day before Diversity Day itself: the Diversity Day Lecture with Mr. Dr. Glenn Thodé, Assistant Professor in Criminal Law (University of Groningen), advisor to the Dutch government, and former Rector at the University of Aruba. In the lecture 'Reimagining Education in the Caribbean Netherlands: Converging or Diverging from European Netherlands?', Thodé will discuss the future of education in the Caribbean Netherlands. By 2050, the population there is expected to double and change significantly due to migration, and Thodé will show how educational design can turn this demographic shift into an opportunity for a stronger society. The lecture and subsequent discussion will be held in Dutch and/or English.

7 October: UNESCO Story Circles
On 7 October, the official Diversity Day, participants are invited to take part in the interactive session UNESCO Story Circles. In this dynamic session, staff and students come together to exchange stories about our experiences and cultures, foster deep listening, and build bridges across cultures.
Through guided dialogue in small groups, you will explore diverse perspectives, strengthen empathy, and celebrate the richness of our faculty community. Walk away with new connections and a renewed sense of belonging in our diverse academic community.
