Thesis defence Christoph Krasemann
On 21 June, Christoph Krasemann will be defending his thesis entitled ‘Die “Biblia Sacra – Derekh ha-Kodesh” des Elias Hutter. Eine sprachdidaktische, kultur- und editionsgeschichtliche Analyse’.
Elias Hutter was a German linguist in the late sixteenth century. Born in Saxony, he dedicated his life to spreading the knowledge of Hebrew. In that context, he published the ‘Biblia Sacra – Derekh ha-Kodesh’, a special edition of the Hebrew Bible. Krasemann researched both the didactic and theological aspects of Hutter’s project, charting the cultural historical context in which Hutter was operating.
