'Language and AI' community

The intricate relationship between human language (spoken, written, or signed) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) has evolved into a pivotal and dynamic topic, thanks to the remarkable achievements of current technologies. As a part of the Jantina Tammes School, the 'Language and AI' theme is an interdisciplinary initiative that aims to encourage collaboration among academics, PhD candidates, students, and industry representatives who share a keen interest in the intersection of language and artificial intelligence.

Centered around Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools and technologies, the theme embraces a diverse range of perspectives and interests. This encompasses the development of innovative NLP tools, gaining insight into their internal workings, utilising them for the analysis of extensive language data (spanning various modalities), and applying them to comprehend the intricacies of human language. The theme is committed to offering a platform for individuals from varied backgrounds to explore the practical applications of NLP within their respective fields.

Language and AI community

By joining the 'Language and AI' community, you will have the chance to connect with people who are passionate about language and AI technologies, stay abreast of the latest developments in NLP, access resources and cutting-edge technologies, participate in engaging events, find new collaborators, and actively shape the future of the theme.

Our inaugural gathering is scheduled for January 31 at the House of Connections (11:00 - 14:00, lunch included). Please RSVP by January 22nd to confirm your attendance (or just sign in to be kept informed about future events or if you want to organise an event).
