Immigrants and Digital healthcare Symposium

When:Tu 16-06-2026 14:00 - 17:30Where:House of Connections, Grote Markt 21

Digital healthcare should be accessible for everyone who can benefit from it. Unfortunately, little is known about the perspectives and needs of various immigrant populations when it comes to digital healthcare.

In this interactive symposium, we will present lessons learned from digital health cafés organised within immigrant communities in Groningen. Policymakers and other professionals are invited to actively engage during this event and discuss together what these findings mean for policy, practice, and future initiatives. Representatives of immigrant communities, as well as immigrants themselves, will explicitly be invited for this symposium.

During the discussions, an artist will create a visual poster that makes the outcomes of the dialogue visible. This symposium marks a first step towards more accessible digital healthcare for immigrant populations in our province.

For this project, we are also looking for a student assistant who speaks Arabic and can support us during the digital health cafés. If you are interested, please contact e.i.metting@rug.nl.
