Designing Hybrid Argumentation Systems
When:Tu 08-09-2026 2.00 p.m. - 5.00 p.m.Where:House of Connections, Grote Markt 21, Groningen

Generative AI is reshaping how we process information, form opinions, and make decisions, from citizens to entrepreneurs and policymakers. But does AI sharpen our critical thinking, or does it obscure it through hallucinations, biases, commercial interests, or the outsourcing of our cognitive abilities?
This academic workshop, preceding the public event Hoe gebruik je AI kritisch (How to use AI critically) in the Niemeyer AI Factory building, invites researchers to explore how we can design AI as a constructive critical assistant rather than an echo chamber. How can we develop hybrid argumentation tools that combine human and machine intelligence to compensate for each other’s weaknesses?
