DASH Connect: Implementing Technology in Care
Are you a healthcare professional or researcher curious why some technologies in healthcare (such as VR or apps) succeed while others do not?
In this interactive workshop, you will learn how implementation frameworks can help you understand why technologies are or are not meaningful in practice, and how to apply these insights. We will explore several frameworks from implementation science and discuss their relevance for real-world practice.
The workshop will be hosted by Esther Metting and Wieke Bouwes.
Dr. Esther Metting is the host of this workshop. She is an Assistant Professor in eHealth at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) and the Faculty of Economics and Business. With a background in psychology and epidemiology, her research focuses on the intersection of health and technology. At the UMCG, she leads a research group focused on the implementation of eHealth.
Wieke Bouwes is the co-host of the workshop and a junior lecturer and PhD candidate at the UMCG, within the research group led by Esther Metting. Her PhD research explores how healthcare network collaborations can help support patients who face barriers in using eHealth. With a background in business administration, she has knowledge on implementation theory and teaches medical students about the implementation of eHealth.
