Student Assistant Events & Communication (8-20 hours)
Are you a student at the University of Groningen (RUG) and are you enthusiastic about organising events and communication? Are you interested in scientific research? Do you want to contribute to the translation of scientific research to society? The Jantina Tammes School of Digital Society, Technology & AI is looking for student assistants between 8 and 20 hours per week.
The Jantina Tammes School is trying to create impact to the university and society by organising activities with the aim to optimally benefit from and contribute to digitalisation, digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI). Our motto: digital prosperity for all. On the one hand, we study how human-centred digital technologies and AI can be developed and applied. On the other hand, we investigate the interconnections between digitalisation, datafication and society, and how these influence the daily lives of citizens. We do this through multidisciplinary research and education, and in close collaboration with social partners.
We are seeking versatile and proactive Student Assistants to support the day-to-day operations of our School. This role is ideal for someone who is representative, good in organising, a team player, tech-savvy, organised,”and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment”. The function offers you opportunities to develop yourself.
Job description
As a student assistant your duties include:
- Assist in organising school-wide events and digital campaigns and projects.
- Assist with planning, coordination, and hosting of events, including webinars, workshops and seminars.
- Assist and prepare event materials and follow up with attendees as needed.
- Creating and publishing multimedia content for the website and social media of the Jantina Tammes School.
- Assist in impact- and aftercare process.
- Providing input for and supporting the development of content that contributes to the communication strategy of the Jantina Tammes School.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and suggest workflow optimisations.
Job requirements
Are you or do you have:
- Bachelor's student third year or master's student at the UG until at least July 2027.
- Available for the month June 2026 and at least one year starting September 2026
- Good written and oral language skills in Dutch and English
- Creative talent for language and image; (required)
- Strong understanding of (online) communication and marketing, with awareness of current trends and developments
- Genuine interest in scientific research and its societal impact
- Insight into the relationship between universities and society at large
- Proactive, well-organised, and adaptable in a dynamic environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Handy in editing and using photo and video files (knowledge of Adobe Suite is a plus)
- Experience with website editing (UG-cms Apollo, Wordpress, Joomla)
- Experience with social media content (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube)
- Newsletters (e.g. LaPosta, Mailchimp etc.)
- Administrative skills;

Je verzorgt onderwijs binnen de voltijd- en deeltijdopleidingen HBO-Rechten en Sociaal Juridische Dienstverlening en binnen de Master Toegepast Recht.

Je begeleidt studenten bij (praktijk)opdrachten, stages en afstuderen, helpt ze om te groeien als juridische professionals zodat ze weten wat waardenbewust handelen betekent in een snel veranderende wereld.

Je houdt je kennis en didactische vaardigheden up-to-date en onderhoudt contact met collega's en professionals, zodat actuele praktijkervaringen in het onderwijs terugkomen.

Je maakt deel uit van een (zelf organiserend) team met veel ruimte voor eigen regie, samenwerking en ontwikkeling. We zijn deze manier van werken verder aan het versterken, en jouw ideeën en initiatief zijn daarin van grote waarde.

Je werkt in principe overdag, maar bent ook bereid om op dinsdag- en/of donderdagavond les te geven. Je werkt onder leiding van een opleidingsmanager, die je ondersteunt in je professionele ontwikkeling.

External experts and independent observers for 28Digital
External Experts
We are looking for independent external experts who’d like to contribute to the European innovation ecosystem by helping our work to assess innovation and education project proposals.
This is a much appreciated and partially compensated work for experts who are confident in our focus areas of Digital Tech, Digital Industry, Digital Cities, Digital Wellbeing, and Digital Finance.
If you have a proven entrepreneurial track record in the creation or scaling up of ventures and a venture capital or business angel background this is a great opportunity to see and evaluate innovation projects before anyone else, securing a unique co-investment dealflow.
Independent Observers
We are also seeking independent external observers! Their job would be to observe the work of the evaluation panels, making sure that everything is compliant with the established evaluation process of impartiality, transparency, and objectivity.
Applicants for the role of Observer are required to comply with the following criteria:

An advanced knowledge of the specific sector of the call where he/she is involved.

Proven knowledge in evaluation of EU-funded programmes.

Fluency in English (written and verbal).
To ensure independence and avoid conflicts of interest, experts must not be affiliated in any way with one of our partner organisations, plan to be so, or have been in the last three years.
