Hilda Amsing appointed as vice-dean
The Executive Board of the University of Groningen has appointed Prof. Dr. Hilda Amsing as vice dean of the Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences until Oct. 1, 2025.

Hilda Amsing is professor of Dutch Educational History and, since 2018, education director in the Department of Pedagogical and Educational Sciences. Within her chair "History of Dutch Education," she focuses on developments in our country's education system and understands them in their historical context. She is also a director at the Stichting Pedagogisch Onderwijs (SPO).
From October 1, she will start as vice dean and portfolio holder for education within the faculty board of the GMW faculty. Hilda Amsing: "As vice-dean, I hope to contribute to an educational culture with élan. By that I mean an open and constructive culture in which employees know how to find each other, in which they make use of each other's expertise and in which they inspire each other."
Hilda also has concrete ideas on how to implement this. "By developing education together, talking to each other about education, taking a look at a colleague and learning from each other, you stimulate the didactic and substantive enrichment of education. I think that contributes to job satisfaction and ultimately to student enthusiasm."
The current board members are pleased with the appointment of Hilda Amsing, making the board full again. They are confident that the education portfolio is in good hands with Hilda.
