CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS

Healthy ageing, health, and well-being are central research themes at the University of Groningen. Within the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences, we host a wealth of expertise on these topics, and plenty of potential for inspiring collaborations.

This annual symposium of the Center of Expertise Social Sciences Health and Well-being (CESSHW) aims to connect researchers, PhD candidates, and (research) master students who share an interest in health and well-being from a behavioural and social sciences perspective. Together, we’ll exchange ideas, explore opportunities for joint projects and funding, and contribute to a vibrant research community within our Faculty and beyond.

Programme highlights

  • A walk-in lunch (12:00–12:30) to meet and mingle.
  • Keynote by Dr. Julian Rengers, who recently defended his PhD on Selective disclosure at work for Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Employees’ Disclosure Decisions, Motivations, and Approaches, with the focus on Health and Well-being.
  • Short presentations (10 minutes each) to showcase ongoing projects, spark discussions, and give the floor to many different voices.

This year’s theme is ‘Diversity, Health and Wellbeing’ and we warmly invite contributions that explore how diversity relates to health and well-being in all its forms.

Interested in presenting?
Mark your calendars and share your work! If you would like to present a project related to the theme, please send us a title, author names, and a short abstract (max. 150 words) by 14 October 2025 to cesshw rug.nl.

We welcome contributions from all researchers, PhD candidates, and (research) master students.

Let’s make this symposium an inspiring afternoon of exchange, collaboration, and community building.
