Eligible candidates:
  • Within two years of receiving PhD
  • Open to applicants worldwide
  • Must identify a university or research institute willing to host the fellowship
  • Research must fall within applied philosophy
  • Fellowship may not be held concurrently with other employment, except limited teaching (≤3 hours/week)

Purposes: To support early-career scholars conducting independent research in applied philosophy and to foster engagement with real-world social, political, and ethical challenges.

Programs: Proposed research must be within applied philosophy

Amount: £20,780

Duration: 12 months

  • CV
  • Research proposal (max. 1,000 words)
  • Writing sample(s) (max. 10,000 words)
  • Two letters of reference (one from outside the PhD institution)
  • PhD certificate or confirmation of viva date

  • Disclosure of any concurrent fellowship applications
