Selection criteria
Additional information
- Applicants must propose a research project significantly different from their PhD or prior work.
- Candidates cannot work in a country where they are nationals unless they meet specific exemptions (e.g., dual nationality criteria).
- Research projects must be interdisciplinary, challenge existing paradigms, and use novel approaches.
Programs: Biological and non-biological disciplines
Purposes: To support early-career researchers in broadening their expertise by moving into a new field of study and working in a different country, fostering innovative approaches in life sciences research.
Fellowship Types:
- Long-Term Fellowships (LTF):
For applicants with a PhD in biological disciplines. - Cross-Disciplinary Fellowships (CDF):
For applicants with a PhD in non-biological disciplines (e.g., physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, or computer sciences) transitioning to life sciences.
Funding Details:
- Fellowships are awarded for three years.
- Includes living allowance, research allowance, and travel costs.
- Amounts vary based on the host country.

Applications involve a two-stage process:
