Eligible candidates:
  • GSRA international track candidates should submit a full or provisional acceptance letter from an approved international institution (as is the University of Groningen).
  • All candidates must not exceed 35 years of age at the time of submission deadline.
  • Employed students who are receiving salaries during their studies are not eligible.
Grant information:

Purposes: The primary benefit of this award is to build the local human capital and train our future scientific and academic leadership, the secondary one is to boost Qatar’s reputation as a leading capital of innovative and impactful research solving the foremost local, regional, and global challenges.

  • for Master’s candidates: up to 2 years + 6 months extension of financial support
  • for PhD candidates: up to 4 years + 1 year extension of financial support
  • for MSc: monthly stipend USD 5.000
  • for PhD: monthly stipend USD 6.250
  • annual tuition fees up to USD 20.000
  • annual standard health insurance
  • settlement allowance
  • annual travel ticket
  • for PhDs: annual conferences and workshops allowance up to USD 5.000
