Additional information

Eligible candidates:
  • Must have obtained (or expect to obtain) a PhD from a Danish research institution before the grant period starts.
  • Must have no more than three years of post-PhD experience by the application deadline (extensions allowed for parental leave, illness, military service, etc.).
  • Must demonstrate strong ties to Danish research through:
    • Prior employment at a Danish research institution.
    • Strong personal or family connections to Danish research.
    • A clear intention to return to Danish research after the fellowship.
  • No Prior Affiliation with Host Institution:
    • Cannot have been employed or studied (graduate or undergraduate) at the intended international research institution(s).
    • Shorter research stays do not count as an affiliation.
  • Must reside in the country where the international research institution is located during the fellowship.
  • Cannot be used to extend an ongoing postdoctoral fellowship abroad.

Purposes: promote internationalisation of talented young researchers from Denmark by enabling postdoctoral research at one or two leading international research institutions and facilitating their reintegration into the Danish research environment.

Grant information:

  • Duration: 2 to 3 years.
  • Funding: Covers full salary and operating expenses of DKK 8,000 per month.
  • Additional Support: For the period abroad, applicants may apply for an additional DKK 50,000 per year when traveling with a partner, or DKK 100,000 per year when traveling with child(ren).
  • Administration: The grant must be administered by the Danish research institution, where the applicant will be employed throughout the fellowship
