Additional information
- Engaged in studies relevant to the specified fellowship categories.
- Enrolled in a master's or PhD program.
- Bachelor students and postdoctoral researchers in medical engineering, applied medical science, public health and data science in medicine are not eligible.
Purposes:
Bayer Foundation Fellowships are designed to enhance existing study programs (MSc, PhD, and medicine) by providing additional funding for international placements or research activities, that are complimentary to current or future scientific studies.
Fellowship in Drug Discovery Sciences: For master's or PhD students from all scientific disciplines, including pharmacy and data science, engaged in studies relevant to the pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare industries.
Fellowship for Agricultural Science: For master's or PhD students from all scientific disciplines, including data science, with studies pertinent to the Crop Science industry.
Fellowship for Medical Sciences: For students of human and veterinary medicine, or master's and PhD students in medical engineering, applied medical sciences, data science in medicine, and public health
Fellowship for Climate & Health: For students in human or veterinary medicine, or master's and PhD students in natural sciences, pharmacy, public health, or epidemiology, focusing on the impact of climate change on health, particularly:
- Health of women and other vulnerable populations
- Cardio-Renal Health
- Neglected Tropical Diseases
- Respiratory Health
Destination: Students studying in Germany must undertake placements in a different country. Those studying outside Germany are required to undertake their fellowships at a German research institution.

The number of fellowships awarded annually is not specified. One scholarship is awarded annually.

- Applications must be made using the online application portal – applications via email, letter etc. will not be considered.
- Incorrect, incomplete, or out of scope applications will not be considered.
- Applicants should apply only once per call. Multiple applications will result in all submissions being rejected.
