English Language and Culture

During this web class you will get an idea of what it is like to study English Language and Culture. The main focus of the web class will be on literature, specifically Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

Web class

This course deals with Shakespearean drama, Hamlet. The course material introduces you to Shakespeare in his historical context and explains the ways that plays were staged in outdoor theatres in early seventeenth-century England. The course material supplies you with the information necessary to compare and contrast the acting of Shakespeare's plays in his own time and today.

Spring edition

The spring edition of the web classes will take place from 9 March - 2 April 2026.

Registration via this site starts on Monday 2 February 2026 at 10:00 (CET). Registration closes on Wednesday 4 March 2026 at 23:55 (CET).
