Course descriptions/outlines

If you are applying to a programme at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Medical Sciences, the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Faculty of Spatial Sciences or University College Fryslân, you will have to submit (official) curriculum outlines/descriptions of the courses you have completed/will complete in relevant subjects.

For the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Medical Sciences you will also have to include filled out checklists for the relevant courses.

You can find the instructions per faculty, checklist templates as well as an overview of exempted qualifications on this page.

Important: Course descriptions will only be taken into consideration if the respective course is listed on your transcript/grade list (already completed) or on a school's statement of enrolment (still to be completed).

Curriculum Vitae / Resume (optional)

Your CV should preferably list your previous/current education (incl. name of school/educational institution, official name of qualification, period of enrolment), relevant work experience and other relevant skills. If you are unsure about the format, you can use the Online Editor from Europass.

Diploma

Please upload a copy of your original diploma and, if applicable, its official translations.

Secondary education
If you have not graduated yet, please submit a statement from your school confirming that you are currently enrolled in your programme, stating the official name of the qualification/diploma (if applicable, original language and English translation) you will obtain and the date of your expected graduation.

Higher education
In case you are currently in the process of completing (part of) a programme of higher education, please submit a statement from your institution of higher education confirming that you are currently enrolled in your programme, stating the full name of the programme, the official name of the qualification/diploma (if applicable, in the original language and its English translation), the nominal duration* of the programme in years and credits/units and, if applicable, your expected date of graduation.

* The set amount of years required to complete the full programme and obtain the qualification, as well as the total amount of credits/units that students need to obtain to complete the full programme and obtain the qualification.

Letter of motivation (optional)

We would like to know why you are applying for the programme of your choice and why you consider yourself to be a good candidate.

Letter of reference (optional)

You can upload these letters in the Progress Portal or your referees can send the letters directly to the Admissions Office from their institutional email address using the Admissions Office's contact form.

Proof of language proficiency

We only accept the following English proficiency tests:

  • IELTS (Academic);
  • TOEFL (iBT, CBT and PBT);
  • Cambridge Assessment English exams (only C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency).

Our TOEFL institution code is 7191; you will have to select this code when you register for your test. Scores older than two years are not accepted.

You can apply for a degree programme while you have not yet taken an English proficiency test or while your test score is still insufficient. In that case, you may be conditionally admitted with one of the conditions for admission being that you take and pass a (new) test.

Please visit this website for the language requirements per faculty and accepted exemptions.

Transcripts

Please upload copies of your original transcripts (i.e. grade list, academic record) and, if applicable, their translations. If you have not yet completed all your courses, please upload a list of the courses (if applicable, incl. credits/units) that you will still be completing (before you can graduate).

If the programme of your interest has a GPA / grade requirement, please make sure that we receive a complete list of your grades obtained to this point. We will also need to receive information about the grading scale used at your institution. It is usually provided at the bottom or on the back of your transcript.
