1. Living Labs

Collaborate with passionate students from the Global Responsibility & Leadership (BSc GRL) program to effectively address your social and sustainability challenges. These students focus on solving complex challenges, inspired by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and translate these into concrete, practical solutions for your organization.

GRL students combine academic depth with a strong interdisciplinary perspective. They specialize in fields such as politics, philosophy, and economics; ecology, energy, and climate; or culture, psychology, and global health. In addition, they select courses from various faculties, enabling them to develop into versatile professionals who make connections and think beyond boundaries.

During the Living Labs and Field Labs (February through June), these students work intensively on your challenge. You define the assignment and remain involved through regular coordination, while the university provides supervision and equips the students with the right tools and support.

The result? Five months of access to a team of motivated students and the university’s expertise—without the intensive supervision typically required for an internship. This way, you get maximum value from a minimal time investment.

2. Field Projects

Turn data into valuable insights with our Data Science & Society (BSc. DSS) students. They will actively tackle your complex challenges and translate data into concrete, actionable solutions for your organization.

For example, a team of four students will collaborate on your project. Using data analysis and research, they will deliver well-founded, scientific insights that are immediately applicable in practice.

These students combine strong analytical skills with a critical eye for the social and ethical impact of their work. This ensures you receive not only innovative solutions, but also responsible and future-proof results.

3. MSc Thesis

Turn your sustainability challenge into an opportunity with an MSc student in Sustainable Entrepreneurship. We’ll connect you with motivated students who will dedicate their thesis to an issue within your organization and conduct thorough research.

You’ll work closely with talented students who apply the latest academic insights directly to your business. At the same time, you’ll actively contribute to their development and receive valuable, evidence-based solutions for your organization.

Most students complete their thesis between February and June—the ideal time to accelerate your sustainability goals.

4. Minor Data Wise

Bring your data challenge to life with the interdisciplinary Data Wise minor. Over the course of 16 weeks, students from all faculties at the University of Groningen will collaborate on societal data challenges, and your organization can submit its own project for this initiative.

You’ll gain direct access to a diverse group of talented students with a wide range of expertise. They’ll combine their knowledge and fresh perspectives to develop innovative and immediately applicable solutions to your challenges.

The minor runs from September through February: the perfect opportunity to strengthen your organization with new insights and concrete results.

Collaborative research

Tackle your complex issues thoroughly with the help of PhD researchers. For challenges that require in-depth expertise, we connect you with specialized researchers who will analyze your strategic issue down to its core.

This process requires careful preparation and a longer turnaround time, but it provides you with valuable, scientifically grounded insights. This way, you not only get answers, but also concrete tools to make strategic decisions with confidence.

6. Internship

We offer students the opportunity to complete an internship within your organization. This allows them to gain valuable practical experience, while you benefit directly from their fresh ideas, new perspectives, and energy.

Our students come from two BSc programs: Data Science and Society and Global Responsibility and Leadership. Thanks to the interdisciplinary nature of these programs, they bring a broad mix of knowledge, skills, and backgrounds to the table. This allows them to contribute flexibly to a wide range of organizations and projects.

The internship period typically runs from September through January: an excellent opportunity to temporarily strengthen your team with motivated talent.
