70th anniversary of Frits Zernike’s Nobel Prize

It is 70 years ago that Frits Zernike received the Nobel Prize for Physics. The professor's work and his phase contrast microscope are still of great significance to medicine and the biological sciences. To reflect on this, there will be a symposium on Friday 3 November at the Zernike Campus in Groningen. There are several speakers, including the youngest Groningen Nobel Prize winner Ben Feringa and the grandson of Frits Zernike. The evening program takes place in the city center of Groningen. There is also a public day microscopy.
