Medical and Pharmaceutical Drug Innovation

***Information for application academic year 2015-2016 will be updated shortly***

Information

Medical and Pharmaceutical Drug Innovation is a highly selective program that only admits the best students interested in biomedical research. You will gain insight into the pathophysiology of diseases, the development of drugs and the way they work.

The program is multidisciplinary and requires a broad understanding of various concepts and technological approaches. We offer that you work with top scientists in their field, with state-of-the art facilities for (pharmaco)genomics, biomics, proteomics and in vivo (animal) and in vitro (cell) imaging. Your class will consist of students with different backgrounds, such as biology, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, biotechnology and medical sciences.

Profile

You have a background in biology, biotechnology, (bio)medical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, (bio)chemistry or medicine and belong to the absolute top of your class. If you have successfully applied to an undergraduate scholarship in Science without Borders, we offer the possibility to apply to an exchange position in this program.

Because of the very selective nature of this program, we require that you are an advanced student with an excellent academic record in a relevant program. Additionally, you should meet the English-language requirements: TOEFL 92 IBT or IELTS 6.5. Please keep in mind that this program is only for you if your passion is research and you wish to either continue with a master’s or a PhD program after completing your undergraduate degree.

In case you are a student enrolled in a medicine program, you will probably lack background in cell biology and research techniques: in case of selection you will be asked to prepare for your stay in Groningen by acquiring additional knowledge in Brazil.
