Success for protein researcher
Biochemists from the University of Groningen, headed by Prof. Dirk Slotboom, have managed to show how bacteria absorb the vitamin B3 they require. The results of this research will not only lead to the development of new antibiotics, it could also lead to more efficient vitamin production. The study was published in October in the journal Nature Structural and Molecular Biology. This is Slotboom's fifth publication in Nature in just two years.
The weekly online video magazine Unifocus highlights topics related to the University of Groningen in the fields of research and society, student life, teaching, policy and internationalization.
