Wadden gas en shale gas masterclass
The Energy Academy Europe and the Honours College organized the masterclass ‘Societal Impacts of Energy Activities’. Prof. Rien Herber (Geo-Energy) evaluated which lessons there were to be learnt from the gas exploitation in the 1994-2007 period and the discussion surrounding it. And then the students took the floor: how did all this apply to the current shale gas debate? How would you approach this as government, gas company or stakeholder organization in society? What type of leadership is needed to bring the discussion to a satisfactory conclusion?
The weekly online video magazine Unifocus highlights topics related to the University of Groningen in the fields of research and society, student life, teaching, policy and internationalization.
