The University Library’s treasures
In the vaults of the University Library of the University of Groningen are thousands of manuscripts, atlases, letters, maps and other valuable historical material. These are all exceptional, old pieces which everyday visitors never see and that only leave the vault from time to time for research purposes. One of the exceptional pieces is the oldest map ever printed in the Netherlands, dating from 1514.
The weekly online video magazine Unifocus highlights topics related to the University of Groningen in the fields of research and society, student life, teaching, policy and internationalization.
