Excavation at Crustumerium
29 September 2015
These movies give an impression of the excavation at Crustumerium, situated in central Italy, about 20 km north of Rome. It is an ancient Latin site which was inhabited from the end of the 9th until the beginning of the 6th century BC.
The excavation is a collaboration between the Groningen Institute of Archaeology and the Italian Archaeological Service. During the campaign 2nd year students get their training in Mediterranean Archaeology and work together with Master students, staff of the GIA and Italian excavators.
