Visit of the ambassador of Canada

The ambassador of Canada, H.E. Lisa Helfand visted UG on July 11nd . President Jouke de Vries welcomed her on her first visit to UG. The ambassador was interested to be informed on UG’s strategy and more specifically on how to work more closely together. Dr. Jeanette den Toonder, Director of the Center of Canadien Studies joined the meeting and highlighted the uniqeness of the Center of Canadian Studies. She informed the embassabor on the current activities of the Center. A delegation of UG staff members involved in research in Canada about their research projects. The visit closed with a meet and greet with UG students who have been selected to study in Canada in the next academic year. This visit was a start for a more intensive connection between Canada and UG. New connections have been made and more will follow.
