IPORA is an international transdisciplinary research network, created to study the major challenges facing the African continent and find concrete solutions. IPORA invites all public and private institutions interested in the Africa-Europe partnership to take part in a conference entitled "Strengthening Africa-Europe academic partnership (SAEAP) to improve cross-sector governance", and to discuss key issues, current and future research, good partnership practices and cross-sector governance.
The SAEAP conference will be a hybrid event. Discussions will take place in two languages, French and English, with simultaneous translation available for those who wish.
The conference kicks off on Tuesday afternoon, April 1, 2025, with an opening session on the theme of "Africa-Europe academic partnership: moving forward". During this session, guests will discuss new ways of promoting good partnership practices between Europe and Africa ("From decolonization to balanced partnerships") and fostering interdisciplinarity and the relationship with public decision-makers ("Interdisciplinary research at the service of cross-sectoral policies").
From Wednesday April 2 to Friday April 4, 2025, researchers, decision-makers and representatives of civil society will meet in themed sessions on "Food and Nutritional Security", "Health and Poverty", "Environmental Security", "Healthy Cities", "Informality and Social Justice", "Interdisciplinary Data Sharing", and "Training through Research". During these sessions, ongoing interdisciplinary research in the various networks and countries, prospective needs for new themes and (co-)funding, and prospects for partnerships with other networks will be discussed.
