UMCG

At the Faculty of Medical Sciences, enthusiastic and passionate students from (bio)medical studies come together to connect and work on projects and events within the Green Office Ambassadors (GOA) committee. Therefore, GOA is the Green Office Embassy of the Faculty of Medical Sciences.

GOA is part of two organizations: the Green Office and the International Federation of Medical Students Associations Groningen (IFMSA Groningen). This gives us the opportunity to be involved in sustainability on a local level, within the university of Groningen, and on a (inter)national level, within IFMSA Groningen. We currently have nine members from seven different countries. Our collective aim is to improve sustainability in the university, in our faculty, and in our personal lives as students. Different projects we are currently working on are the BeSus podcast, the Foodies project where we investigate the sustainability of food and products within our canteen, and Book CPR where we promote the use of second hand (study) books.

Links to the platforms of the BeSus podcast and Book CPR can be found below!

As a committee, we are very open to welcoming new members! We meet once a week physically, where we discuss the progress of our projects in a short meeting. Finally, we always love to receive ideas for new projects or events. If you are interested in joining GOA or if you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach us via greenambassador.umcg@rug.nl
