Faculty of Law Green Office Embassy

The Green Office Embassy of the Faculty of Law was established jointly with the Arts Embassy in 2018. As a community of 30 enthusiastic students, we aim to raise awareness for environmental issues and work on making our faculties more sustainable. To achieve our goals, we frequently collaborate with embassies from other faculties, student associations, and anybody else who is interested. While we are currently in the process of separating the two embassies, we still operate from a joint board and several joint committees. The embassy has its own Events Committee, as well as a joint Projects Committee, Editorial Committee, and Design Committee with the Arts embassy.

Whereas the Events Committee has worked on environmentally-themed pub quizzes, law lectures, and a moot court, the Projects committee has established the Green Network Groningen, researched students’ attitudes towards a more sustainable lifestyle, and hopes to create a new student’s sustainable guide to Groningen. Our Editorial Committee contributes to the Green Office Blog by writing on how you can live a greener student life, while the Design Committee is responsible for all our graphics needs and has created a map on sustainable food spots, as well as a poster on responsible mask use, for example. Lastly, the board is busy setting up a pen recycling spot and a second-hand textbook shop in the Harmonie building.
