Put Friday 23 September 10.00 - 14.00 hours in your agenda! For that day, the Groningen Provincial Executive (Provincie Groningen) and Sustainable Society/University of Groningen organise the Groningen Governance Conference: a conference about the capacity of Groningen public governance to deal with future challenges, with top speakers from governance and science. The hosts are the King's Commissioner René Paas and Prof Jouke de Vries, chairperson of the Board of the University of Groningen.
An exchange between science and practice.
The Groningen governance conference 2022 provides a platform for elected representatives, policymakers, scientists and others involved with public governance in Groningen.
Taking a step back from daily routines, the conference aims to facilitate an exchange of opinion between science and practice about the resilient future of Groningen public governance. The latest academic insights are combined with the everyday experiences of policymakers, elected representatives and directors. Together they explore the various aspects of the quality of public governance. The emphasis is on guaranteeing the quality of provincial and local democracy and policy. The programme is focused on issues, such as the interplay with residents, regional cooperation, leadership, co-determination, policymaking and implementation.
