About the book’s content

In gesprek met marsmannetjes is the third book in the series of anthologies centred on the guest writer programme at the University of Groningen.

In a lecture written especially for this guest writer programme, Joost Oomen explores his sources of inspiration and traces the paths of the Muse, the Martian and the demon. He then sheds light on the question of what justification this style of writing still has in a literary landscape inundated with autobiographical works.

Under Joost Oomen’s guidance, students wrote poems and prose pieces inspired by the central theme of the seminars. Their contributions offer a glimpse into the imaginative worlds of these budding writers.
