About the book’s content
De kunst van herstellen. Een persoonlijke, visuele reis vastgelegd in dagboeken en kunst is a visual and personal journey through the recovery process from depression.
This book presents 46 works of art, created daily by the artist Desiree Uuldriks, which poignantly depict the course of her treatment. These works are enriched with excerpts from digital, personalised diaries, in which she recorded her emotions, thoughts and behaviours whilst participating in the scientific Therap-i study within the mental health care sector.
By combining art and self-reflection with scientific methods, such as digital diary-keeping and visual feedback, the book offers an in-depth insight into the recovery process.
