SuSo Lunch Webinar: 'Europe's external threats and challenges, part I: Russia'

Wanneer:do 20-05-2021 12:00 - 13:00
Waar:Livestream

In cooperation with the Democracy & Governance (D&G) research group, the Sustainable Society is organising the lunch webinar: 'Europe's external threats and challenges, part I: Russia'. While the Covid-19 pandemic crisis is still causing major internal challenges across the continent, the European Union also faces a series of external threats. Some of these threats have been around for a while, while others create new risks which may affect European politics and societies in the short, medium or long run.

This new webinar series of the Democracy & Governance Research Group kicks off with a focus on Russia. In light of some of the most recent events (Josep Borrell’s visit in Moscow, the imprisonment of Alexei Navalny, the expulsion of diplomats from European Union member states and the troop buildup near Ukraine); Dr. Lisa Gaufman and Prof. Dr. Hans van Koningsbrugge will reflect on past, present and future challenges Russia poses to the rest of Europe, and what the Netherlands and the European Union can do about it. This webinar will consist of short presentations by each panellist, followed by a Q&A with the audience. The event will be moderated by Dr. Benjamin Leruth.

  • When: Thursday 20 May 2021, 12:00 - 13:00 hrs
