Save the Date: Launch Special Issue on (post-) Growth Infrastructures
On 13 March, we will host the launch of a special issue of Economy & Society on (post-)growth infrastructures, co-edited by Malcolm Campbell-Verduyn (University of Groningen) and Matthias Kranke (University of Duisburg-Essen). Bringing together international contributors and local scholars, the event explores how infrastructures shape contemporary societies and what possibilities exist for moving beyond growth-dependent systems.
The programme will feature presentations from several contributors to the issue, including Kei Otsuki on highway development in the Amazon; Aslı Yürük on Istanbul’s first cruise port; Clemens Hoffmann on high-speed decarbonisation projects in Africa; and Sylvain Maechler on green accounting. The event will open with an overview of the project by Malcolm Campbell-Verduyn and Matthias Kranke.
