AI Sustainability Education Workshop (JTS & RAS)
Artificial intelligence is transforming our world at an unprecedented pace, but at what environmental cost? In this interactive workshop, Malcolm Campbell-Verduyn, Marco Zulllich, Juan Diego Cardenas Cartagena, and Stefanie Kunkel guide participants through the key sustainability challenges of AI. From the energy use of large data centres to the wider social and environmental impacts of AI applications in industry and daily life, the session explores both direct and indirect effects.
This workshop is part of a round of workshops on this day organised by the Jantina Tammes School, and is open to both students and staff, this workshop offers practical insights and interdisciplinary collaboration around sustainable AI. Registration is required.
