Lustrum UB405 successful: a retrospective

Half a year after the foundation of the Academy in Groningen in 1614, a library was also founded. The foundation of this Academy library took place on 28 February 1615.

Over half a year after the anniversary celebrations of the UG, the University Library also celebrated its 405th birthday with several festivities at the UB City Centre, open for our users and for the residents of the city of Groningen and its surroundings.

All over the building, visitors could enjoy music, comedy and poetry.

Open Day

On the open day, our visitors were offered a unique view behind the scenes. There were guided tours in Dutch, English and Gronings , there were lectures, children's activities and so-called layman's talks.
