Work on your language proficiency online in a way that suits you best!
Because our buildings are momentarily closed, all our courses are being taught online. Our Dutch, English and modern foreign languages courses, normally taught on-site, are now available as interactive online group courses. In addition, we also offer Online Dutch. Or you can go for the independent study package Rosetta Stone, which is available in no less than 24 languages.
Are you not sure yet which course to choose? We are happy to help you find the online course that suits you best.
Interactive online group courses
If you like the idea of receiving intensive supervision and having all the benefits of learning a language in a group setting, then these courses are just the thing for you. The course you would normally follow on-site somewhere in Groningen, will now be taught online. This will happen on the same days and times, but now via Blackboard Collaborate, our online classroom for the coming period. The focus will be the same: in the course, you will receive personal attention from your teacher, and learn a language in a group setting.
Blackboard Collaborate gives the option of video calling and chatting at the same time, plus you can share documents with the group. The teacher can also share their screen to explain something, and you can work on exercises in smaller groups. The teacher uses various interactive modes of instruction and online assignments and tests.
Online Dutch
If you want to be more flexible, but still like the idea of working with fellow course participants in an interactive manner, as well as receive guidance from a teacher, then Online Dutch is just the thing for you. These courses focus on self-study. Course participants are expected to spend 8-10 hours per week on self-study. In addition, you will join three interactive group sessions with the teacher and your fellow course participants. These sessions will be planned in such a way that course participants from all over the world can join in.
In this comparison grid you can see the exact differences between our interactive online group courses and our Online Dutch courses.
Rosetta Stone
If you prefer learning a language completely independently, then Rosetta Stone is just what you’re looking for! You can study on any device, both online and offline. You decide when and where you will learn one of the 24 languages!
