Registration for courses starting in September in English , Spanish , Arabic , German , French , Italian , Japanese and Russian is now open! Are you curious about what to expect from an online course? At the start of September, we will host a Webinar Week, in which you will be able to get a taste of what’s to come.


Dutch courses

Registration for Dutch courses starting from September is open now. We will also hold a number of Dutch courses on site again as from September!

See below for an overview of our courses and for more information about registration dates. You can check the timetables for each course in the course catalogue, which is available on our website. You can also find out whether the course will be held online or on site.

Dutch group courses

We offer general group courses in Dutch at nine different levels, from beginners (0) to advanced (C1). We also have special courses for UG staff members.

Dutch courses funded by the UG

International students, PhD students and postdocs at the UG can take Dutch courses at the Language Centre at the UG’s expense. Be quick, the courses usually fill up quickly!

Dutch courses for German speakers

Due to the linguistic similarities between German and Dutch, we offer special Dutch courses for German speakers. The courses are open to everyone. International students, PhD students and postdocs at the UG can take these courses at the UG’s expense.

Online Dutch

Learn Dutch or improve your Dutch – wherever you are in the world. Our eight-week Online Dutch courses combine independent study with group sessions. These sessions are organized so that they take place at a convenient time, regardless of the time zone you are in.

We offer our Online Dutch courses at eight different levels, from beginners (0) to advanced (C1). The courses will start on 7 and 14 October.

Online Dutch for doctors and dentists

These Online Dutch courses are specially for people who want to pursue a medical career in the Netherlands. In addition to general language skills, we also look at doctor-patient communication. A beginner’s group (0>A2) will start at the end of September; an advanced group (B1>B2) will start in October. Registration is open.

Dutch courses for civic integration candidates

We offer Dutch courses at three different levels, from beginners (0) to advanced (B2), for those wanting to complete the Dutch integration process. In order to register for these courses, you first need to come to the Language Centre for an intake interview. Course participants who have already received a recommendation regarding the right course level will receive a separate email in August in order to be able to register.

In September, we will also again offer an Orientation in the Dutch Labour Market (ONA) course.

Academic writing skills

This course covers all the aspects of writing good academic texts: paragraph structure, writing style, a focus on the target group and spelling. The course will begin on 7 September.

Work on your speaking or writing skills with one of the courses below!

  • Writing skills from level B2
  • Oral skills from level B2
  • Conversation course to reach level A2 or B1
